Pacman-style game for Android
Mazeoid is an addictive Pacman-style game for Android phones, which recreates all the magic of the veteran arcade favorite.
Your challenge in Mazeoid, as you'd expect, is to gobble up all the pills without getting caught by the ghosts. You can also collect different types of fruits that appear, to score extra points. If you eat a flashing pill you become invincible for a few seconds and you're able to go munch the ghosts and send them back to their paddock in the middle of the maze.
Just as the gameplay of Mazeoid replicates Pacman very well, so do the graphics. The levels (of which there are many) look almost exactly the same as the original. The sound in Mazeoid is pretty poor, though. There's no music and minimal sound effects.
Controlling your little Pacman guy in Mazeoid is done using the touchscreen, d-pad or the trackball. Unfortunately, the controls are quite fiddly and we found them to be unresponsive at times when playing Mazeoid on a HTC Desire.
Mazeoid is a no-frills Pacman remake that recaptures the addictiveness of the original, but doesn't bring anything new.
